Walking on Water
Wilmington, NC
Situated uniquely on Futch Creek, this guest home is surrounded by water on three sides with a pool and spa extending at grade. From inside at high tide, one feels as if he is floating. The second floor of the guest home rests on a 12-foot cantilever, providing unobstructed water views and a cloud-like experience. This home was awarded with North Carolina’s highest honor exclusively for Modernist residential architecture, the George Matsumoto Prize (2014).
