Responsibilities:
As a construction carpenter at Tongue & Groove, you will play a crucial role in building superior
residential homes. Your expertise will involve designing, constructing, and installing structures,
furniture, and fixtures using a variety of materials. Attention to detail and a steady pace are
essential qualities for our craftsmen. You'll be responsible for interpreting blueprints, operating
various tools and equipment, as well as measuring and cutting materials such as wood and
metal. Additionally, your skills will extend to shaping and assembling various parts and carrying
out necessary repairs or replacements. Climbing high places and installing doors and windows
may be required, so physical fitness is important. Our collaborative team environment demands
excellent communication skills to ensure a safe and efficient workflow, enabling you to build
close, lasting relationships with teammates and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals who embody our core values and possess the following
qualifications:
● At least 3 years of experience in the construction industry.
● Proficient in framing, siding (including Cedar Shake, Hardie, etc.), porch ceilings
(Mahogany, Cypress, etc.), IPE decks, interior trim, and cabinet installation.
● Agreeable and patient demeanor, working effectively in a team setting.
● Demonstrated ability to work at a steady pace with utmost precision.
● Dedication to maintaining a professional work environment.
● Accountability and commitment to ensuring client and company satisfaction.
● Adherence to approved building plans from clients and architects.
● Impeccable attention to detail, delivering superior performance and quality of work.
● Professional and transparent communication skills.
● Ability to bring your own tools is a plus, but not required.
