Position Overview

The Estate Handyman/Carpenter supports the growth of Tongue & Groove’s Property Service Division by collaborating with homeowners, Estate Executives, and the Tongue & Groove team to provide exceptional service. This role ensures that our service meets the homeowner’s needs while upholding the luxury standards that define the Tongue & Groove brand.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service Promotion: Actively promote and grow revenue from Tongue & Groove’s Maintenance Services, offering both one-off repair projects and ongoing, routine property maintenance services to clients from our construction and realty divisions.
  • Punch List & Warranty Support: Assist Estate Executives in addressing punch list items and warranty claims for homes completed under our construction services.
  • Home Inspection Support: Work alongside Estate Executives to address punch list items identified during home inspections, particularly with Mark Batson Realty and Landmark Sotheby realtors.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Support the team in performing general home maintenance, repairs, and renovations. This includes securing homes, overseeing subcontractors, and performing self-performed tasks.
  • Self-Performed Work: Troubleshoot and repair issues, perform carpentry tasks, assist with lifting and site cleaning, and stage homes for client arrivals and departures.
  • Schedule Adherence: Contribute to maintaining and following the maintenance and repair schedule while ensuring quality control and timely completion.
  • Homeowner Satisfaction: Ensure that the homeowner’s expectations are met during all maintenance and repair services, providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing Tongue & Groove’s safety policies, promoting safe work habits, and adhering to OSHA regulations.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Ensure subcontractors meet cleanliness standards and are held accountable for site clean-up.
  • Multi-Project Management: Manage duties across multiple homes simultaneously, maintaining high standards of work and service.
  • Customer Relationships: Assist in building long-term, sustainable relationships with clients through exceptional service and communication.
  • Software Use: Work within specified software systems to track tasks, maintain schedules, and document service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in property maintenance, carpentry, or general construction preferred.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
  • Reliable, responsible, and proactive attitude.
  • Comfortable using maintenance management software and tools.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
  • Occasional weekend work for client emergencies and on-call coverage
