We are seeking a talented and ambitious landscape architect to join our team, working closely with a seasoned veteran in the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Landscape Architect, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with an expert in luxury landscape design. Your role will encompass the design, installation, and maintenance of both residential and commercial projects. You’ll be exposed to the full spectrum of landscape architecture, including creating stunning visual designs and ensuring they are implemented effectively.

Short-term Onboarding Process: In the initial onboarding phase, you will:
  • Take detailed notes during meetings and site visits, translating them into schematic designs that align with the project’s goals and client expectations.
  • Collaborate heavily with the lead designer, learning the nuances of luxury landscape design and the firm’s workflow.
  • Participate in on-site visits to understand real-world installations and the complexities involved during different phases of construction.
  • Integrate into the team, getting to know your colleagues and building strong working relationships.
  • Attend client interactions and meetings to observe how client relationships are managed and projects are presented.
  • Be gradually introduced to the design process, with increasing responsibilities as you gain experience and confidence.
  • Gain exposure to the installation process to understand the practical aspects of implementing designs and how it affects future projects.

  • Become an integral part of the overall business operation, with a comprehensive understanding of luxury landscape design and installation.
  • Develop a strong business development acumen, contributing to the growth and expansion of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and design luxury residential landscapes, incorporating elements such as swimming pools, outdoor living areas, hardscapes (driveways, walkways, fences, and perimeter walls), site walls, and fountains.
  • Participate in the installation and maintenance process, gaining hands-on experience and understanding of the challenges that influence design decisions.
  • Use advanced software and technology to draft complex landscapes and create visually compelling presentations to sell projects.
  • Engage with clients, guiding them through the design and installation process while addressing their needs and preferences.
  • Contribute to business development and build relationships with clients, with a long-term view of leading a division or managing the business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in landscape design software and other relevant technologies.
  • Creativity and an eye for detail, with the ability to create stunning visual designs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with a seasoned expert and learn from their experience.
  • Business development acumen, with the potential to take on leadership roles in the future.
  • Knowledge of plants and landscaping materials suitable for the Wilmington climate.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
