Project Manager - Luxury residential Construction

Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for leading high-end residential construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role oversees project schedules, budgets, jobsite operations, quality control, field teams, trade partners, and client communication.

The ideal candidate is an experienced residential construction professional who demonstrates sound judgment, strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate and resolve challenges.

Key responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage all phases of residential construction from pre-construction through project completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and critical-path activities.
  • Monitor project costs and make informed decisions to protect profitability.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, building codes, and company quality standards.
  • Identify potential delays, conflicts, and risks and address them proactively.
  • Conduct quality-control inspections, pre-closing walkthroughs, and punch-list reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation.

Field Leadership and Jobsite Operations

  • Direct and coordinate carpenters, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Communicate clear expectations regarding schedule, workmanship, safety, and performance.
  • Oversee daily jobsite activities and confirm that work is progressing according to plan.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and OSHA-compliant jobsites.
  • Provide hands-on field support when necessary to keep projects moving forward.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with in-house architects, interior designers, estimators, project coordinators, and operations staff.
  • Coordinate materials, deliveries, inspections, subcontractors, and project milestones.
  • Review invoices, deliveries, change-related information, and other project documentation for accuracy.
  • Maintain consistent communication with leadership and internal project teams.

Client Communication

  • Serve as the primary construction contact for clients throughout the project.
  • Provide clear, professional, and timely updates regarding progress, schedules, and project decisions.
  • Address client questions and concerns with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Build strong client relationships through reliability, transparency, and follow-through.

Systems and Reporting

  • Use Buildertrend and other company systems to manage schedules, communication, and project documentation.
  • Provide regular progress updates, reports, and supporting project data.
  • Ensure records are complete, accurate, and accessible to the appropriate team members.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing custom or high-end residential construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, plans, specifications, and building codes.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make timely, well-informed decisions.
  • Consistent attention to quality, detail, safety, and accountability.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Experience with Buildertrend or a comparable construction management platform is preferred.

Schedule

This is a full-time, Monday–Friday position. Additional availability may be required based on project schedules and operational needs.
